History

Altar Interactive / Altar Games

Altar Interactive began its creative journey with the puzzle game Fish Fillets (1997). The studio, founded by Martin Klíma, a partner of Altar Publishing, has gained recognition for its original strategy game Original War (2001). Equally famous was the three-part series UFO: Aftermath (2003), UFO: Aftershock (2005), and UFO: Afterlight (2007), which drew inspiration from the legendary X‑COM series and introduced new elements to the turn-based strategy genre.

The final installment was developed under the Altar Games brand because, after several canceled projects, Slavomír Pavlíček, co-owner of Bohemia Interactive, took over the studio.

The Brno branch of ‘Bohemka’ has been in the business since 2010 and has contributed to well-known titles of the globally acclaimed studio.
